We Help Children Hold On To Their Hopes
Ed is a pillar in the community both as a business owner and volunteer for over 30 years for the Putnam City Care…Share organization. “We help children hold on to their hopes.” Ed “adopts” children out to other hair salons for the Christmas Holidays, providing food, clothing, toys, necessities, hope and dignity to children in need in the Putnam City School District. He has made a difference in the lives of over 30,000 children.
In 1995 he received the Golden Apple from the Putnam City Schools, followed soon with the Pyramid Award from the Putnam City District and the Good Samaritan Award from a local radio station.
Ed Londagin was recognized by President George W. Bush with the distinguished “Points of Light” award – honored for the Light he has brought into the lives of thousands of children. Presidents George H. Bush and Bill Clinton have written letters of their admiration and respect for Ed’s volunteer work.
In March of 1994, the governing body of Oklahoma including Governor Brad Henry, The Oklahoma Senate and House of Representatives gathered at the State Capitol to honor Ed’s achievements.
In 2008, Ed was one of fifty honorees presented with the prestigious “AARP’s 50th Anniversary Award” for 30 years of community service in the State of Oklahoma.
In 2012, Representative Dank presented Ed with a Citation of Appreciation and Congratulations for 30 years of volunteering, inviting him to speak to the House of Representatives about Putnam City Care…Share.
